About The Position
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this role is responsible for providing precise and timely spatial information about the surface mining operations.
Your day-to-day activities will include but not limited to:
- Assist geologists with ore-markups and set out production drill holes ahead of drill schedule
- Carry out surveys to determine mine structures and layouts, ensuring their precise position above and below the ground.
- Conduct drone flights to pick up mining surfaces for mine planning
- Carry out end of month processes for development and stockpile reconciliation.
- Conduct regular drone flights picking up active mining areas and surroundings.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment, ensuring measurements are accurate and reliable.
- Stay updated with the latest in surveying technology and methodologies to enhance the survey process and bring efficiency to the operations.
What You Will Bring
A mining professional who is motivated and values safety first in everything they do, including looking out for their teammates.
- Previous experience as a Surveyor in a mining environment or related field
- Certificate/degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field
- Valid surveying license/certification as per the regulatory body of the region
- Mine Surveyors’ Certificate Grade One or Two (Essential)
- Proficiency in using Deswik or Surpac software
- A positive attitude to safety and teamwork
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in the mining industry
You must have full Australian working rights, be able to complete and pass a medical assessment (including drug & alcohol screen) and be able to provide a current National Police Clearance (within last 12 months).
